CHESTERTON — The organizers of a Wizard of Oz festival that attracted thousands of fans of the classic 1939 film to watch parades of costumed characters say this year’s flood-plagued festival was their last.

The world-famous Oz Festival returns to its home downtown Chesterton, Indiana! Join Dorothy and her friends for a weekend of fun, magic, and excitement! The actors who played the Munchkins in the original film will be on hand to sign autographs and pose for photos. The festival also features Emmy Award-winning producer and Wizard of Oz/Judy Garland historian, John Fricke; Judy Garland’s stand in from the film, Caren Marsh-Doll; curator of Judy Garland’s film costumes, Michael Siewart; and several other Oz Celebrities. Young fans can meet Dorothy, the Scarecrow, Tin Man, Cowardly Lion, Glinda the Good Witch and the Wicked Witch live in person.
Join us on Saturday, September 19, and Sunday, September 20, for a weekend of fun in charming downtown Chesterton!
