DNR to match farmers with hunters State wildlife officials want to bring the state’s deer hunters together with Indiana farmers who are fed up with deer eating their crops. A new online tool developed by the DNR aims to pair farmers and landowners who want fewer deer on their land with hunters who need a place to hunt. Hunters must submit an online application between July 1 and Aug. 30 through the online Hunters Helping Farmers program. Hunters can submit up to two counties where they’d like to hunt. Farmers can then select the hunters they’d like to interview for the right to hunt on their land. Hunters must adhere to all bag limits, antlerless deer quotas and license fees.
