City & State   Berkeley, California
Topic / Issue   Animal Rights
Location   Berkeley City Hall
Speaker   Corky Plather, Philip Invidia & Rolland “El Bueno” Parsons
Phone Contact   Sally Gozella
Sponsor   PETI International
Description
Every minute of every day, billions and billions of insects die violently and unnecessarily on the windshields of the world’s autos, trucks and buses. Few regard this “insecticide” as anything more than an major inconvenience when one has to clean one’s windshield. The deep moral significance is missed altogether.

Well, the People for the Ethical Treatment of Insects International has had enough of this cruel and widespread myopia. That’s why PETI is working for national legislation that will mandate the all vehicles in the United States be driven backward. Think of the lives of the billions and billions of God’s tiniest creatures that will be saved from senseless vehicular mayhem.

Remember, the last thing that goes through an insect’s mind when he hits your windshield is his ass! Join us this Saturday and every Saturday throughout the year to seethe with anger and demand reform in the name of these precious creatures. The Berkeley City Council unanimously supports this effort in keeping with its tradition of taking thoughtful and relevant positions on important matters. See you on Saturday! Be there or be square!
